George Tsavliris receives GREEN4SEA Leadership Award
On 12 March 2019, Mr George Tsavliris received the 2019 GREEN4SEA Leadership Award at a prestigious award ceremony held at the Yacht Club of Greece in Piraeus.
Mr Tsavliris, Chairman of CYMEPA for over two decades, received the award for his leadership role within CYMEPA and other national and international Associations.
The successful 3rd Annual Capital Link Cyprus Shipping Forum
Capital Link organised with great success its 3rd Annual Capital Link Cyprus Shipping Forum on 27 February 2019. The Forum took place in Limassol at the Columbia Plaza, under the Auspices of the Cyprus Shipping Deputy Minister to the President and the sponsorship and cooperation of the Cyprus Union of Shipowners. George Tsavliris was the Conference Chairman.
The Piraeus Marine Club held its 18th annual international Protection and Indemnity conference on 31 January 2019. The conference tackled questions over liability, fines and casualty claims following new emissions regulations. Speakers from 11 P&I clubs made presentations, while comments were made by shipping company representatives.
City University of London Presentation on Shipping
Andreas Tsavliris gave his annual lecture at the City, University of London to over 130 master's degree students on 24 January 2019. The presentation was on "Shipping Trade & Finance" and the topics discussed included the ordering of new buildings, buying and selling second hand vessels, chartering, insurance, banking, financing and currencies.
CYMEPA was awarded the Gold Environmental Award 2019 during a Pancyprian ceremony at the Presidential Palace in Lefkosia, Cyprus, on 22 January 2019. Mr George Tsavliris, CYMEPA President, received the “Gold Protector of the Environment“ recognition by the Honorable President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr Nicos Anastasiades.
