As previously reported, TSAVLIRIS had been contracted by the owners and their P&I Club to remove the cargo of logs on deck from the bulk carrier "KIPEROUSA", which had grounded off East London in South Africa on 7th June. TSAVLIRIS had originally been engaged under the terms of LOF 2000 incorporating SCOPIC and were carrying out salvage services under the SCOPIC Clause.

After a busy winter period, the international TSAVLIRIS SALVAGE GROUP has again been active in recent weeks, with a number of notable salvage cases spanning the Aegean Sea, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans, as well as the Far East.

Three active months for the TSAVLIRIS SALVAGE GROUP began just before Christmas with commencement of a major project to salvage a frigate after it stranded on a reef 80 miles north of Jeddah.

The TSAVLIRIS SALVAGE GROUP has refloated a stranded bulk carrier in one of the most difficult and protracted salvage operations carried out in the Indian Ocean in recent times.
