The fourth quarter for 2017 remained busy for Tsavliris Salvage. Worldwide, Tsavliris were the salvage company with the greatest number of Lloyd’s Open Form cases in 2017. The most important Q4 2017 cases are:
-Bulk Carrier "SINICA GRAECA"
-Drilling Rig "EIRIK RAUDE"
-Bulk Carrier "DELFA"
-Bulk Carrier "MARIA A. ANGELICOUSSI"
-Bulk Carrier "IOLCOS GENESIS"
Throughout the course of 2017 there have been 63 LOF contracts agreed and/or reported to Lloyd's. The figure is substantially up from the 49 reported contracts in 2016. Collectively the Greek salvage companies have performed 28 of the salvage operations with the Tsavliris Companies performing the most (12 services).
TSAVLIRIS GROUP celebrated their New Year's "Pita Cutting" event on 22 January 2018. The occasion included the annual blessing and was attended by the TSAVLIRIS family and staff.
On 22 December 2017, the Bulk Carrier "IOLCOS GENESIS" (DWT 46,000 – GT 34,062) partly laden with maize, immobilised due to main engine failure approximately 43 miles west-north-west of Kaohsiung, Taiwan. On 28 December the operation was completed successfully.
Tsavliris celebrates the 30th London Christmas Reception
Tsavliris Salvage Group held their 30th Christmas Cocktail Reception at the Royal Thames Yacht Club (RTYC) in London, on 12 December 2017. This year, Tsavliris were honoured with the presence of the British Minister of State for Transport, Legislation and Maritime, Mr John Hayes, and the Secretary General of the International Maritime Organisation, Mr Kitack Lim who both spoke pertinently about shipping and the salvage industry.
