PRESS RELEASE No. 206/2007 - Date: 14th September 2007 MV "NEW FLAME": The operation to remove the fuel from the vessel has been successfully completed. 780 cubic metres of fuel has been removed in just 30 days despite the exposed location of the vessel and the loss of 10 days due to inclement weather. No fuel has been spilled from the "NEW FLAME" into the sea.

Following the recent collision with the tanker "TORM GERTRUD" off Gibraltar, the bulk carrier "NEW FLAME", 43,815 tons dwt laden with approximately 42,000 tons scrap, was abandoned in sinking condition and stranded by way of her bow, with cargo holds No.1 & No.2 flooded.

On the occasion of the visit to Piraeus of the salvage tug "FOTIY KRYLOV", the "world's largest, most modern and most powerful tug", TSAVLIRIS hosted a reception on board on Wednesday June 27th, 2007.
